Bout Season 2009

Season’s Beatings: a roller derby yuletide – 19 December

The deciding bout for the 2009 season sold out within hours! The Black’n'Blue Belles, still riding the wave of victory from bout 2, were down a skater due to injury. The game was tight and the Griffins led at halftime, only to have two skaters ejected from the game for major penalties. It was either team’s game, but the Belles managed to skate ahead winning by a super close 2 points in the last jam, to win the season. CRDL’s lurid green and purple trophy was awarded to the Belles and is now in their safekeeping, but will not be safe for long…. Half time entertainment was provided by Phantom Drums and the drums of concussion.

Final Score – Black’n'Blue Belles 140 to Surly Griffins 138.

The two CRDL teams, the Black ‘n’ Blue Belles and the Surly Griffins provided sports fans with a fast, furious and hard fought first match. The game was close ‘till half time with the Surly’s getting the edge in the second half and finally taking out the game 149 – 109.
